Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, the doctors and nurses with World Vision Afghanistan’s Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams have remained in the country’s refugee camps.

“We accept the risk,” says Fariba Mahaki, a doctor with the team. “We are ready to serve people, especially children and women, so they are safer.” Dedicating their work to the future of those most vulnerable, the teams:

  • Monitor malnourished children and those with weak immune systems.
  • Provide sanitation and testing kits, especially to camps without proper sanitation systems
  • Educate communities on social distancing and hygiene measures, as most live in temporary, crowded spaces
