Peace can often sound like a really 'lovely' idea but also, unrealistic.

It's easy to become exhausted with news of war, famine and another broken peace deal.

No judgement here if you've ever thought, 'How can peace actually transpire? Is peace an empty dream?' You're not alone

But, be encouraged!

We have a unique story to share with you, a little behind-the-scene look at how our peace building work is making quiet but genuine changes that will help children build a peaceful future.

Our technical peace building teams work in places where conflict and division are a fact of life. We believe peace can also be a fact of life!

In Mali, a country ravaged by deadly conflicts, your gift is enabling elders, faith leaders and community members to participate in Do No Harm workshops.

Do No Harm is a leading tool used by our peace building teams to help communities forge extraordinary peace-filled results.

Child Protection

Many children in Mosul, Iraq have seen the tragedies of war firsthand, whether they’ve been injured themselves or lost a loved one. Thanks to World Vision’s child protection programme, children who became withdrawn due to trauma are regaining their confidence.

For example, 8-year-old Malak, who was injured by a bomb and became very shy and inexpressive, is now “enjoying studying and playing with her friends”, according to her sister Dalal. World Vision is helping children recover from trauma by:

  • Pairing them with case workers to provide personal counseling
  • Providing safe spaces in the city for play and educational activities
