The school meal program started in October 2024 and the initial impact of your gift has been astounding.

Check out this menu of results!

  • Significant increase in student attendance
  • Improved grades
  • Students report increased ability to concentrate
  • Staff observe students are overall healthier and more active
  • Increased uptake of broader programming including safety & child protection

We are committed to working with communities to ensure no child is left behind, not in the classroom, not at lunchtime, not in life.

Now, behind every school meal is a group of amazing volunteers like Marcelina, Nilka, and Wilmer. They're busy, hot and have hundreds of meals to prep, but they let us into the kitchen for a quick tour :)

Meet the cooks!

This particular School Meals location is really special.

This school and programme ensures children with disability are included, given the same opportunities as other children. World Vision is committed to working with local partners on programmes that ensure children who are often underrepresented or left out, do not miss out.

Having a disability should not dictate whether you get to learn, play or join in.

Inclusion matters and we're serious about it!

As Niurkis, the Directress of this special education school, shared:

“The impact of this organisation (World Vision) has been wonderful. We have seen emotional and nutritional progress in each child... Please do not abandon us, do not separate from us because these children really need your help.”

It's hard to argue with a smile that big!

At this school, 67 children with disability are given equal opportunities to learn and grow. The school relies on a committed team of volunteers and support workers to bring this vision to life and we're proud to be a partner in this.

Your gift is cooking up so much more than a nutritious plate of food!

This program is representative of thousands of School Meal programmes World Vision is apart of across the world. Each programme is catered to the local needs of the community and students but secret to the recipe remains the same.

We are working to ensure children have ENOUGH nutritious food to survive, recover and build a future.

Education

Eighty per cent of brain development happens in the first three years of a child’s life. World Vision’s Early Childhood Development programmes are unique because we take a holistic approach to education and integrate nutrition, health and economic development work to bolster children’s learning skills.

World Vision’s Early Childhood Development Centre in the Afghani village of Kabarzan is providing opportunities for the community like:

  • Learning to read and write for more than 30 children
  • Developing good health habits to prevent the spread of disease
  • Skill training for mothers, who also learn about women's rights and the detrimental effects of child marriage, which are all too common in the region
