Ready for PEACE and a huge portion of joy?!

Well, 500 exceptional children and young people from Marawi City, in the Philippines have got you covered.

Seriously, you won't find a better use of 2mins than pressing play to see how your gift is totally peace'ing out in the far pockets of The Philippines.

Just press play :)

So good, you'll probs play it twice...

All of these children and young people have lived through a deadly, life-altering conflict (Marawi Siege) and many of them had to flee for their lives.

Many remain living in variations of displacement, they continue to process trauma and remain aware of the constant possibility that violence may erupt in an instant. But* this does not define them*, as you saw above.

They have all chosen to build a different future, a peace-filled future and they're doing it through ECaP.

ECaP stands for Empowering Children as Peacebuilders. It's the technical humanitarian language for our peace club programming. It’s more than games or fun, it's investing in the next generation, giving them the tools to know how to choose peace, for themselves and then to lead and inspire their families, schools and communities.

You will find peace clubs in many of the Childhood Rescue locations because we specifically work in highly fragile and dangerous regions. Across the world, your gift invests in peacebuilding by investing in children and young people.

For the past few years, Childhood Rescue programs have prioritised peace-building programs. The data, ongoing research and community continually tell us, that to build a better and peaceful future you must invest in the children and young people, today.

Your gift is helping children to survive, recover and one day build their peace-filled future.

Mindanao, Philippines

Marawi and Cotabato City are located on the island of Mindanao in the south of the Philippines. The predominantly Muslim population lives in the crossfire of conflict between rival militant and terrorist groups.

In 2017, a siege began and everyone's life changed in an instant.

For 5 months, militant and government forces fought, destroying thousands of homes, businesses and infrastructure. Up to 360,000 people were forced to flee to neighbouring regions. Four years on, many families still can not return home and live in Internally Displaced Population (IDP) settlements.

A lack of security, health, food and education mean children are highly vulnerable to recruitment offers by militant groups. Childhood Rescue's will help children build their futures through education, health and peace building.

  • Terrorist and militant behaviour undermine social stability and children's futures

  • Terrorist attacks and kidnappings are common in the region

  • Natural disasters cause significant difficulties for families in the region
